My hometown of Wilmington, OH, population 12,603, was hit hard in May 2008 when international shipping giant DHL shuttered its domestic shipping operations and phased out more than 10,000 jobs here over the course of a year. Two of my friends rallied in that wake, and I moved back not long after to help in whatever capacity possible. This is that capacity.
I graduated in March 2009 from the Ohio State University, where I studied Public Affairs Journalism and Italian. I edited thelantern.com, wrote for community newspapers and blogged about Columbus. Now, I grow food, and try to help others in the process.
